A CREATIVE WRITING & YOGA RETREAT

through movement, stillness, curiosity, and creativity

Cole Chance and Victoria Erickson have chosen Sicily for their 2021 summer soiree which is equal parts creative writing, yoga, and Sicilain exploration. We will have 7 days, infused with both inner and outer movement, to open our creative channels and weave of our experiences, musings, feelings, and imaginations into words.

We will be staying at the dazzling Danena Estate – a 19th century farmhouse amongst olive trees on a country lane in southeastern Sicily. There is a beautiful pool (and so delicious in July), nearby sandy beaches, walking trails, and plantations filled with almonds, watermelon fields and olives. We have excursions planned in nature, medieval villages, and we will take to the sea with a special boat adventure.

There are some places you may have missed though you’ve yet never quite known ….

Sicily is one of these places.

It is the isle of myth, passion, and intensity.

Sicily, it is said, has produced more writers than anywhere else in Italy as it is a muse that seems to dance itself across time steeped in mystery, enchantment and unwavering beauty. This is the isle where golden light, winding roads, fruit trees, wildflowers, rolling hills, mountain ridges and turquoise seas blend together as softly as the hues in an oil painting.

Sicily is that evocative.

It is that poetic.

It is that richly and painfully inspiring.

Logistic

You will be flying into Cantina, Italy. We will meet at 4 pm on Sept 4th in a central location in town. HIGHLY recommended to come a day early to acclimate and join the group refreshed after pasta, tiramisu, and a good night’s sleep!

We will arrive back to Cantina at 12 pm on Sept 11th, so book tickets out no earlier than 3pm.

- Transport to and from the town of Cantania, where we will gather before we head to the countryside.

- Daily writing classes with Victoria Erickson that will cover many styles to support finding your flow state and nurturing your creativity.

- Daily yoga/meditation classes with Cole Chance that will both soften and energize your body and mind.

- A beautiful boat ride in the Mediterranean sea

- A visit to a medieval Sicilian village

- Daily Healthy vibrant vegetarian food to nourish you from the inside out. 3 meals a day, one of your meals will be on you when we go into town. (Any additional meals outside the property will be yours as well. )

Cole Chance has been a seeker all her life. It has brought her into the depths of addiction, to all corners of the world, and most importantly to the path of yoga. Through this practice, she has begun to understand, unravel, and explore the most fascinating of all landscapes… the inner one. There is always room to find more freedom and come closer to wholeness, both on and off the mat.

Cole’s teaching style reflects her desire to support her students discover on their own unique journey to their desired life. Her philosophy is to live big, love wide, listen deep, and ALWAYS leave room for possibility!

Victoria Erickson is an author and creative writing coach. She spent years writing for various blogs, local magazines, and newspapers on a variety of subjects, and now writes for herself and also helps brands and beings with a specific style of editing. Her work is a form of paragraph surgery- injecting and she molds creativity, story, depth, and life into anyone’s social media streams, speeches, wedding vows, and books.

She has been coaching creative writing all over the world through workshops, retreats and seminars for five years, focusing on writing from the body, as well as how to layer, notice and play with rhythm, elements, and energy within a paragraph.

Victoria believes that when you’re writing from a primal, intuitive place, life can be wondrously free, fiery, energetic, and extraordinary.
